This Thursday, don't miss True Stories' Goodbye show

Hello, storytellers! And goodbyes...

Our final True Stories show will be Feb 29, 7-9PM at GreenLight Cinema.

I'm putting the live show on hiatus while I focus on other projects.

And while the show may be ending, our stories live on.

Join me on Sunday, March 10, from 10am to noon, at downtown St. Pete's Book+Bottle for a session that will help you turn your story into a book! Everyone has a story, but the secret to memoir is to craft yours in a way that compels readers.

And there's still time to get in on this... bonus chapters, giveaway opps and more!

FLORIDA GIRLS: When 18-year-old Thelma Miles arrives in St. Petersburg, broke and orphaned near the close of WWII, she joins a troupe of touring swimsuit models in an attempt to flee her criminal past, only to find she's stepped into a mafia lair. When the head of the Florida underworld offers her everything she never knew she wanted, she must decide if she will forge a new future or return to the life she knows. Florida Girls is the first novel in The Queenpin Chronicles, which follows the Thelma Miles's coming-of-age journey at a pivotal time for women's rights. Get your free audio sample of me reading the prologue by clicking here! Available everywhere May 28, 2024!

I started running storytelling shows in New York City in 2011, The Next Chapter at Greenwich Village's Le Poisson Rouge. When I went to Pittsburgh for my mom's final stage of life in 2014, I started The Story Syndicate at Cannon Coffee. And though I didn't plan on staying in Florida either, I started a show here — True Stories. I'll post some wayback pics to the Facebook page here.

The past eight years have been a labor of love it's been a privilege to share with you. Story or no, please come and say goodbye! We have some epic prizes for EVERYONE.

Hello Reader, and Happy New Year! I could not be more grateful than I am for the year you've made possible. Look what we did! Thanks, Creative Loafing! TWO L.L.s?!? And this is just in the last week! I'm encouraged to lean in to believing in my work enough to make bringing you stories a regular thing. If nothing else, I hope this note encourages you to lean in to work/play that calls you, even if you're the only one who hears the sound. Go forth and be your supposedly ill-behaved self,...

Covers of books 1 through 3 of the Queenpin chronicles

Hi Reader, I am THRILLED to share with you that the ebook of Florida Girls, Book One of The Queenpin Chronicles, is now... FREE? If I sound surprised, it's because I AM. I scheduled a promotion that was supposed to start 8/21. Adjusting the pricing takes a few days, so I started the process to give it plenty of time, only to have the price change immediately on most e-retailers. So I’m behind sending out this message to let you know it’s coming, because it’s FREE already! If you're a BookBub...

My forthcoming book has nothing to do with this email but I'm still pretty excited about it. Click the image if you'd like a signed copy. Or if ebooks are your thing, click here. Hi Reader, I fell down a TikTok rabbit hole the other day after coming upon a gripe thread in, well, Threads. I know, I should be spending my one wild and precious life better. But hear me out, it gets worse. I went on to listen to an episode of The Creative Penn, an amazing podcast for writers by Joanna Penn. The...
