If you’ve been following along—or even if you just joined—I want to let you in on something. This trilogy started with Florida Girls, a group of women selling war bonds toward the end of WW2. Only that wasn’t the real story.

These women had ambition when weren't supposed to. Coupled with their grit, they made the best of a bad situation. Then they took over.

In Vegas Girls, just when I thought I knew where Thelma was headed—what she wanted, what she’d never forgive—she made a choice that stopped me cold. Not because it was dramatic. But because it was intimate. Personal.

And totally reckless.

I sat there staring at the screen, thinking, Okay, we're not done yet.

That was the moment Havana Girls started taking shape. Where her past choices catch up, and doing the right thing doesn’t look righteous. Thelma. Kathleen. Sam. The next generation. The next mess.
